You’re Dino-Mite Card! featuring Tim Holtz and Lawn Fawn Products

Other than Lawn Fawn, I absolutely love Tim Holtz products!  I use both sizes of his Tonic scissors nearly every day, his stencil designs are intricate and unique, and the new spritzer is so fun and easy to use!

For this card, I wanted to show just how beautiful the spritzer can make a background.  I used the Tim Holtz Crocodile Stencil and various Copic Markers (look in the supply list). Some people have had a hard time cleaning alcohol markers off stencils, but I use a cheap Michael’s Recollections Stamp Cleaner on my stencils and surprisingly it works like a dream. I think its too harsh for my clear stamps so I use Ultra Clean for them, but for mounted rubber stamps and especially stencils this cheap alternative works amazingly well.

I like the texture I get with Copics in the spritzer. The somewhat blend and just give a fabulous look.

Another thing I wanted to try with this card was creating a scene inside of a stitched die cut. All of Lawn Fawn’s stitched dies add a really detailed look to any card. To get the stitching continuous around the scene, I placed the colored dinos on my craft mat and held the die over the dinos until I had the right placement. I then held them in place with some washi tape and sent them through my machine. I also cut an entire stitched circle out of Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock so when I place the cut dinos on top, the stitching ran the entire way around the circle.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the same Critters from the Past set, a strip of green plaid cardstock from the Peace Joy Love Petite Paper Pack, and a stitched line across the sentiment with a 0.3 Copic Marker.

I hope you enjoyed!
